Jan 2019A few months back I decided to take the leap into the world of drones and aerial photography. The DJI Mavic Air was the best choice for me based on all of the flight experience I had logged in my lifetime. (ZERO!)
As I unboxed the Mavic, I was surprised at it’s super compact size! My first flight was inside the house because I just couldn’t wait to get it in the air. Once powered on and hovering in front of me, it was clear that this flying video camera has some serious power!
After tweaking some settings and watching some YouTube tutorials I had gotten the hang of operating the drone. Time to try it out and start filming from a whole new perspective.
The Mavic Air controller is easy to use and with the aid of the obstacle avoidance sensors you will be able to fly near trees and other hazards without worry.
The compact size allows you to easily pack it in your camera bag and have it handy. This portability will have you prepared to get the shots that nobody else can!
The noise level of the drone can be quite annoying until getting up high in the air. Once over 100 feet you will be much less likely to attract attention from people nearby.
The camera on the Mavic Air is awesome featuring a 3 axis gimbal to keep it steady. Not even winds up to 20 mph will cause shaky footage.
Maximum flight duration is around 20 minutes which is plenty of time to shoot your video, take photos or just fly around for fun.
I purchased the Fly More Combo and would highly recommend this option. The Mavic Air Fly More Combo includes two extra batteries, extra propellers, charging hub, power bank adapter and travel bag.
I could go on about how great the Mavic Air is but after writing this post I now have an urge to go fly it!
