-Pinehurst Park MTB Trails-

Pinehurst Park in Eau Claire, WI.  Home to one of the most popular sledding hills in the city.  And, as we found out this last weekend, it’s also home to some awesome mountain bike trails!

The trailhead begins with “Stairway To  Heaven” and as the name implies, it’s an uphill climb.  Winding and turning between trees and ferns, you will be rewarded with a great workout!  At points along this trail we hopped off and walked our bikes to conserve some energy for the rest of the ride.

At the top of “Stairway To Heaven” you have multiple options to get back to the bottom.  Check out a map of the park HERE.  All of the trails from the top are marked as intermediate except for “Fern Sniper”

Jen and I followed a group of brave people ranging from their early teens to retirement age down on”Slingshot”.  This is a fast trail with some jumps and rock obstacles along the way, so take it slow your first time.

At the bottom you can run straight into “Teapot” or head towards the “Dirt Jumps”.  We chose the “Dirt Jumps” and weren’t disappointed.  This area is setup for more advanced riders, however, you can stay on the smaller jumps and have a blast just the same!  We had to take a few runs at it because it just doesn’t get old.

Before exiting into the “Grass Drags” and back to the parking area we were entertained by some more experienced riders taking on some larger jumps.  Here we met Ian, who was nice enough to let us film him launching off a jump on “Fern Sniper”  You can check that out in our video below.

Overall this is a great bike park and a must try if you own a mountain bike.

If you are in the market for a new bike, on road or off road, head down to Riverside Bike and Skate in Eau Claire.  Pat and his staff are great to work with and very knowledgeable!  Their customer service is the best in town and we are very happy with all of our purchases from them!
